Local artist, Marion Howard, showed
her work at Teas Landscape Office in March of 2003. Howard
lives in Bellaire with her husband of 30 years. Although
she has always had a special interest in art she never seemed
to have the time to do anything about it. After her daughter
left for college in 1995, Marion realized she now had some
free time. She joined a beginner’s oil painting class at
the Bellaire Community Center taught by Laura Brueggerhoff.
Under Laura’s guidance Marion discovered the joy of creating
art. From the Bellaire Community Center Marion turned to
HCAA to continue her studies.
She now serves on HCAA’s Board as First
Vice President. Marion is currently studying with Sylvia
Trybek. Under Sylvia’s tutelage Marion has gained a deeper
understanding of the underlying principals of her craft
such as strong composition and brushwork and pure, uncontaminated
colors.
Teas Nursery is inviting
a different artist each month to exhibit selected pieces
of their work in the Teas Landscape Office at 4400 Bellaire
Blvd., just inside the West Loop. The pictures will be on
view from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
